Lok Sabha Election Result 2024: Lok Sabha Elections Congress’s seats have increased in 2024. This is also being linked to the tours of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra and Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra were organised at an interval of one year, which was designed as an exercise to reach out to the voters and build Rahul Gandhi’s image. Congress and its existing India Block allies won 41 seats in the constituencies falling on the route of both the tours.
According to the Indian Express report, during the first Bharat Jodo Yatra from September 2022 to January 2023 Rahul Gandhi said He addressed 12 public meetings, more than 100 street corner meetings and 13 press conferences. During this time, he travelled more than 4,000 kilometres in 75 districts and 71 Lok Sabha constituencies of 12 states and two union territories. Starting from Kanyakumari and ending in Kashmir, this journey passed through 71 Lok Sabha constituencies, out of which Congress contested 56 seats this time and won 23.

At the same time, a lot of difference has been seen between Rahul Gandhi’s first Bharat Jodo Yatra and the second Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. While in the year 2019, Congress contested 65 of these seats and won 15. Whereas, this time Congress’s India Block allies contested 14 of these seats and won 6. In the year 2019, the alliance contested 4 out of 71 seats and won 2.
However, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s second Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra started from Manipur and ended in Mumbai. This Nyay Yatra was slightly different from the Bharat Jodo Yatra, in which Rahul Gandhi traveled about 6,713 kilometers, most of which was by bus. Out of 82 constituencies, Congress contested 49 seats and won 17. Whereas, in the year 2019, it contested 71 constituencies but won only 6.
BJP has an upper hand on all 7 seats of Delhi
On the other hand, Congress and its allies did not gain anything from the first yatra in Delhi. In 2019, out of the 5 seats touched by the yatra, Congress contested all the seats and lost. Whereas, in this election, it contested 2 out of 5 seats, while AAP contested the remaining three. The alliance lost all the seats.
India alliance was successful in winning 4 out of 6 seats in Maharashtra
However, the impact of the first yatra in Maharashtra was that the Congress and its allies won 4 out of 6 seats in 2024. The UPA had lost all these seats five years ago. Whereas, the second yatra covered 8 constituencies, out of which the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance won five seats this time. At the same time, it had lost all the seats in the year 2019. At the same time, in Haryana, where the first yatra covered 5 seats, the Congress lost all the seats to the BJP in 2019. But this time, it was successful in winning 5 seats.
They managed to win 3 seats in Karnataka and 7 seats in Kerala
In Karnataka where the first yatra covered seven seats, Congress contested 5 seats and won no seat while its ally JDS contested two seats and won one. Whereas, in 2024, Congress won three seats when it contested all seven seats. Whereas, in Kerala where the first yatra went to 11 constituencies, out of which Congress won 7 out of 10 seats in 2019. One seat was won by ally IUML. Whereas, out of 11 seats in this election, Congress won seven seats while its allies won 2 seats.
In Rajasthan, Congress won 3 seats and Alliance won 2 seats
At the same time, the first yatra in Rajasthan covered 5 constituencies, out of which Congress had lost all these seats to BJP in 2019, but this time it was successful in making a comeback by winning 3 seats. The party won 2 seats during the second yatra. It had lost both the seats in 2019 and this time it was successful in winning one seat, while the other seat was won by its ally.
Congress and SP performed better
Whereas, in Uttar Pradesh, the first Bharat Jodo Yatra included 3 seats and the second yatra included 20 seats. This time Congress and its allies Samajwadi Party (SP) performed better. Of the 3 seats included in the first yatra, Congress lost all the seats in 2019, while SP won one seat this time. Of the 20 seats included in the second yatra, Congress contested 8 seats and won 3 seats while SP contested 12 seats and won five seats.
